The Book of Matthew (Leibowitz)

The Book of Matthew (Leibowitz)
By Gene Abravaya
Thirty-eight year old Matthew Leibowitz, a struggling writer, still hopes to be a published author one day all the while contending with a father who has retreated into his own world, a right-brained brother that continually reminds him of his less-than-burgeoning career, an estranged wife who, despite his efforts to drive her away, still thinks there is hope for their marriage, and an upstairs neighbor - an out of work actor close to losing his unemployment - who is constantly raiding Matthew's refrigerator and borrowing his phone.
